The Florence Moffett Institute

A Pre-K through 6th grade school, however, many of the children that enter the first grade are at least 12 years old. As no other schools in the area accept older children, separate classes were established for first through third grade classes for the younger children, and other classes for the 12-years-olds and above.

DHF Impact

Academically, the Institute has achieved positive recognition in that all graduating 6th graders have passed the government tests and been granted permission to begin high school. In addition, Florence Moffett Institute instructs in vocational studies, training in sewing, plumbing, electricity, and agriculture, by teaching some of the older children as well as adults in the community.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

PRAY  -  GIVE  -  CONNECT

What Your Help does...

A hot meal is provided daily for all 400 students and their teachers, including weekends and vacation periods, and is the only nourishment some will receive all day. Every year each child is provided with a pair of shoes, a uniform, a backpack with school supplies, and a Christmas gift.

Mission DHF

At the Davidson Haiti Foundation we prepare our students for opportunities for tomorrow by providing them with a 21st Century set of skills including critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, communication, and creativity to ensure a successful future.
